Bahrain Air posts 46% growth in January

Bahrain Air, the private national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain has kicked  off 2013 with a strong January. Revenues for January were 46% higher than a year ago. According to Gireesh Nair, recently transferred to Bahrain as Senior Manager Network Sales, “We are very pleased with the progress we are making as we strive to be Bahrain’s favourite airline. Experience shows that once passengers experience our product, they keep coming back.”

"We have come a long way over 5 years,” stated Nair, “But there is no room for complacency and we maintain our drive for continuous improvement and innovation to the benefit of our customers.”

“To enhance customer comfort, the airline has recently installed a new Business Premium Class seat and this will gradually be rolled out throughout the remainder of the fleet over the coming months. We have also upgraded the menu options in Premium class and we will be introducing the “Reesha Tab” so that Premium Class passengers will have access to tablets with customised programming. Finally, we are completing a project to add additional service options at the airport. More will be announced shortly.”

“We also continue working to make it easier for passengers to book Bahrain Air flights and services. We have recently upgraded our website in English. We will also be extending this to the Arabic website and to include smartphone services within the next week. At the same time, we are working with a Global partner to introduce a pioneering approach to GDS connectivity. Watch this space for an announcement in the coming days.”

“As traffic picks up, we are looking to grow the network, and subject to finalising government approvals, we plan to return to Dhaka with 3 flights a week from mid March, and to increase frequencies to Kathmandu and Jeddah.”

“Finally, we were very pleased to read a recent blog commenting on our birthday messages. We would like to remind all passengers that we do currently provide a free upgrade to Business Premium class, subject to available space, to passengers if they travel on their birthday.”

Nair concluded, “We would like to thank our loyal customers for all their support. If you have any suggestions for further improvement, please visit our website Let us know how we can be your favourite airline.”
